New light on the path to self-reliance: Distribution of sewing machines among helpless women

New light on the path to self-reliance: Distribution of sewing machines among helpless women As part of the social development initiative, sewing machines have been distributed among helpless and struggling women under the “Swadesh Mrittika Self-Reliance Project”. This great initiative has been implemented by Swadesh Mrittika.

It is worth noting that with the help of Muhammad Nurus Sabah Mithu and his respected acquaintances, sewing machines were handed over to a total of 5 women. The beneficiaries are residents of different areas of Raipura, Narsingdi and Satkhira districts. According to sources related to the project, each of the beneficiary women is a member of a poor family, with an average of 4-5 members in their family. In most cases, the husband is a daily wage laborer, making it difficult for them to run their household in the current context of rising commodity prices. In this reality, women have come forward and learned sewing on their own and have expressed their strong determination to become self-reliant. Taking into account their efforts and appeal, sewing machines have been handed over to them, which is expected to create a sustainable source of income in the future. The organization's chairman, Md. Akbar Hossain, said, "It is our moral responsibility to stand by the helpless and disadvantaged people of the society. Through collective efforts, we can build a self-reliant and humane society."Those involved in the project expressed optimism that this small assistance would bring about a big change in the lives of the beneficiaries and pave the way for their self-reliance. The organization has informed that they have received many more applications. The wealthy people of the society have been urged to come forward and stand by the helpless people and play a role in bringing smiles to the faces of a family.
